Day four

June 10, 2013

Although there are not a lot of photos from today’s experience, the day was very busy. We started by going to the museum of contemporary art. This included mostly 20th century works.
A representative sample of the art is included here.

After lunch we traveled out of town to a salt mine that has been operational for about 700 years. There were huge chambers and carvings made of the salt done by the miners themselves. We walked about a mile and a half and descended 400 steps. Fascinating place.

Tomorrow up early and a bus trip to Budapest.

This chamber is so big that concerts, weddings and boxing matches have been held here!

Finally, we finished with a piano concert featuring the piano music of Chopin
